Who we are
We are Next Level Greats, South Jersey’s premier quarterback, receiver and defensive back training program. We are a registered 501(c)(3) charitable organization. We provide training and opportunities to young men in our region to learn football, gain exposure, and help them reach their goal of a college education.
The Next Level Greats Football Club takes a holistic approach to developing youth athletes. Our club offers a wellness experience for each individual in the program, including programs for healthy eating, concussion awareness, strength and training, behavioral health, and drug and alcohol awareness. We pride ourselves on outreach to underserved populations, including urban and rural areas with socioeconomic challenges. The club embraces diversity and serves a cross section of ethnic groups.
Scholarship facts
There are 125 FBS (Division 1A) schools, such as Rutgers, LSU, Miami, Penn State and Alabama, as well as many Division 1AA, Division 2 and Division 3 schools. Each Division 1A school awards 85 full-ride football scholarships per team, or about 21 for each incoming class. That’s roughly 2,520 Division 1 scholarships awarded every year, against roughly 254,000 high school seniors who play football. A current high school senior has less than a 1.2% chance of earning a Division 1 scholarship. The 1.2% who do get scholarships get the exposure they need to be recognized by college coaches and scouting services.
Our goal
Young men who receive proper training and quality exposure are more likely to receive a scholarship. We use our 7on7 teams to promote every player in our organization. We have a database of over 350 colleges we email game film, stats and academic information to throughout the spring and summer. We will make sure college coaches know about all of our players. Not every player will be a Division 1 recruit, but every player gets exposure to Division 1AA, Division 2 and Division 3 schools so each of them can find the right opportunity.
Our goal at Next Level Greats is to help the young men we coach and train become scholarship recipients. This isn’t about us. It’s about the young men we train each week.
History
The NLG Club was established in 2012 under the leadership of Marcus Hammond to create an avenue for athletes at every performance level to move to the next level.
In July 2013, NLG held its inaugural camp, the Next Level Passing Camp, at Total Turf Experience in Pitman, NJ, with roughly 30 participants. It was an instructional camp focused on skill development for breakout athletes, and satisfaction surveys from participants, parents, coaches and media rated it a strong success.
The second camp, The Beast of the East, was held in January 2014 and featured top college prospects in a showcase event. One hundred sixty players participated, including twenty-one who held Division 1 scholarship offers. Media outlets including Rivals.com and Scout.com covered the event, and a live stream of the camp was viewed by over 200 colleges.
